About Dr. Ayanda

Dr. Ayanda Chakawa Ryce is a licensed clinical psychologist, speaker, and founder of Mozeyek - an action-based psychoeducation brand that uses psychological science to help people better understand themselves, understand others, and make sense of the experiences that shape us.

Dr. Chakawa’s work is grounded in the belief that understanding people requires understanding the cultural and social worlds in which they live. She makes psychology accessible and practical, helping individuals, families, and communities understand how culture, identity, relationships, family experiences, and broader social contexts influence mental health and well-being.

Dr. Ayanda earned her PhD in clinical psychology from Auburn University, a master’s degree in developmental psychology from the University of Alberta, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oakwood University. Her research has addressed well-being, parenting, behavioral-health services access, and the experiences of historically underserved communities.

Ultimately, Dr. Chakawa’s goal is to help people approach themselves and others with greater understanding, navigate challenges more effectively, strengthen interpersonal connection, celebrate diversity, and grow with intention.

About Mozeyek

The inspiration behind Mozeyek comes from the concept of a cultural mosaic, which Dr. Ayanda learned about while growing up in Canada. Unlike a melting pot, where differences are blended together, a mosaic is created because each person - their culture, identity, history, and perspective - remains distinct while contributing to a larger, more beautiful picture.

Mozeyek was born from that same belief - that understanding ourselves and others requires looking at the many pieces that shape who we are. Culture. Identity. Development. Relationships. Mental health. Lived experience.

Through culturally relevant conversations, Mozeyek brings these pieces into connection and uses applied psychological science to help people better understand themselves, others, and the experiences that shape us.

Every piece matters.
